Field Hotline: 650-558-7319 If weather conditions in Burlingame are questionable (e.g. rain), call the Field Hotline for field closure information.

The following information should help with the setup and tear down of the Burlingame soccer fields.  Please enlist coaches, managers, players and parents to assist with putting away the equipment.

NOTE: THE FAILURE TO RETURN GOALS, CORNER FLAGS, SAND BAGS, ETC. TO THEIR PROPER LOCATION AFTER A GAME OR PRACTICE WILL RESULT IN A $100 PENALTY FOR THE TEAM FOR THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, $250 FOR THE SECOND, AND $500 FOR THE THIRD. SUBSEQUENT TO THAT, THE BURLINGAME SOCCER CLUB MAY LOSE ACCESS TO THE FIELD.  The only exception to this policy is if you see a team behind you who will be practicing or playing a game immediately following yours.

Franklin/Osberg Field Lock Policy

Leaving goals out at Franklin and Osberg has been an ongoing problem and is a real threat to the permits for BSC at these two fields.  We have been working in partnership with Park/Rec, Burlingame AYSO and Club volunteers to develop and implement an enforceable policy for the goals.

  1. There are locks on the goals at both Franklin and Osberg which are for the exclusive use of Burlingame Soccer Club teams.  Coaches and Team Managers should take care to maintain the confidentiality of these combinations so that they do not become widely known.  The BSC will change this combination from time to time in an effort to limit the distribution of the lock combinations.
  2. It is the responsibility of teams to put away and lock the goals at the end of each team event (this includes practices).  Never assume that someone else will be coming onto the field after you.  It is never OK to leave goals on the field, regardless of the time of the day.  If you see a BSC team coming onto the field after yours, communicate with either the Coach or TM of the next team.  Make a positive handoff of the responsibility to put away the goals (some teams will not need the goals for their event, and therefore they may not feel a responsibility to put your goals away).  Never assume that the next group will assume responsibility for your goals.
  3. Both goals should be locked to the fence.  Franklin goals should be locked to the fence next to Trousdale (NORTH side), and Osberg goals should be locked to the rear fence next to the equipment area (WEST side).  ANY TIME YOU MOVE A GOAL, TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE THE TURF.  Please report any equipment problems immediately to fieldsbsc@gmail.com.
  4. If the group after yours is a non-BSC group, make contact with a responsible person for that group and identify if they will need the goals.  If they will not, then put away and lock the goals.  If they will be using the goals, request that they accompany you to the fence so that you can lock the BSC lock and they can unlock the other lock.  This will ensure that you have transferred the responsibility for the goals to that group.
  5. In cases where the other group does now know their combination, and it is obvious that they are an organized, regular, user of the fields (such as Burlingame AYSO), the BSC lock can still be used, but please email fieldsbsc@gmail.com and include the name of the person you spoke to, the organization name, and team name.
  6. If you ever come on to a field or leave a field and the lock is missing, please email fieldsbsc@gmail.com and list the date, time you arrived or left, and the field where the lock is missing.  If there are goals left out, and the lock is missing, but you did not communicate this, you will still be held responsible for any fines.
  7. If you come on to an empty field and find the goals already on the field, please email fieldsbsc@gmail.com and list the date, time you arrived, and which field you were using.  This will ensure we can properly assign responsibility to the group who left the goals out.
  8. There will fines assessed to teams or groups of teams for any goals left out after their event.  In the case of any complaints from neighbors, schools, other teams, individuals (anyone who complains), we will make an effort to determine who the team was that left out the goals.
    1. If we can positively identify the team that left out the goal, the fine will be assessed to that team
    2. If we cannot positively identify the team, then the fine will be assessed to the last team (or teams) on the field prior to the complaint.
    3. All fines levied will be at the discretion of the Fields Manager of the Burlingame Soccer Club and may not be appealed.  Player cards will not be distributed to any teams with outstanding fines.
    4. Fines will be levied according to the following schedule.  All fines will be collected by the BSC Treasurer and forwarded the Burlingame School District via Park and Rec.
      1. First offense:  $50 fine
      2. Second and third offense:  $100 fine
      3. Third offense: $250 fine
      4. Fourth offense:  $250 fine and loss of field use

**NOTE: One of the Franklin goals has a temporary lock.  This goal is damaged and should ONLY be used for games.  This goal must be moved by an Adult and placed on the near-side of the field. **
